President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Beer Magufuli, last on February 8, 2017 made a surprise tour of the construction project of the new building of the Airport International Julius Nyerere in Dar es Salaam (Terminal 3) to import construction activities on the same field continue from today.

Initially subcontractors who built the stadium who are company BAM International announced a moratorium on construction from yesterday due to his alleged non-payment by the Hon. Magufuli president has promised to pay the money quickly.

However, Hon. Magufuli President has expressed his disappointment with the way the project is being enforced, including the government admit that the high cost of the project is 560 billion shillings level that is higher compared to building builds.

"Right there you why the experts of the Government to accept this kind of expensive, so this building is similar to the 560 billion?

"Then you have to start quickly did approve the second phase of construction before finishing the first phase?" He questioned Hon. Magufuli president when he asked the Ministry of Construction Engineers who oversee the project.

Subsequently, the Hon. Magufuli President has instructed the Minister of Works, Transport and Communications Hon. Prof. Makame Mbarawa repugnance who accompanied him to form a team of experts who will evaluate the implementation of the project including talking with subcontractors who built the stadium and Engineer Consultant who have agreed to reduce the cost of construction of the project.

"The government will pay the money that Contractors are demanding but, I want to create a team to minister reviewed, it should not cost this passes, we can finish all these funds when building does not look like the same value" stressed Dr. Magufuli.

In addition, Hon. Magufuli President who has expressed dissatisfaction with the flaws that began emerging in some parts of the building, has instructed Hon. Minister Mbarawa redesign team of engineers who supervised the project and who will work for nationalism and quality assurance.

Before leaving the pitch when the Hon. Magufuli President met with workers employed in construction activities on the field and assure that the Government has taken to ensure the project is underway and that starting today they will continue to work as usual.

Meanwhile, Hon. President Magufuli has suspend the Acting Secretary of the Planning Commission (Ministry of Finance) Ms. Anri Frolence approved the start of the second phase of construction of the new airport before the end of the first phase to let the investigation.

Hon. Dr. Magufuli has directed the concerned authorities to conduct an investigation into the project.
